BOOX setup
In the system’s Refresh Mode Settings, configure KoReader to use the Normal refresh mode.
Then in KOReader:
- In tap and gestures settings, disable annoying gestures by setting them to “pass through” mode.
- Optionally, enable multi-swipe gestures for the “back to previous location” action, or assign it a tap zone. This allows you to go back after clicking a link.
- Set your HOME folder to the root folder where you put your ebooks.
- Optionally, install https://github.com/doctorhetfield-cmd/simpleui.koplugin and enable it.
- Optionally, in the search and lookup settings, enable the dictionaries you have extracted to subfolders of
koreader/data/dict. You may use the in-app terminal emulator from the more tools submenu to move and unzip dictionary files.
You may enable show footnotes in popup in the Links submenu of tap and gestures settings, but it doesn’t work well for some EPUB books.
Status bar
You may open the menus by swiping from top or bottom:
- Reset document settings to default in top menu (document).
- Enable alt status bar in the bottom menu.
- Customize status bar items in top menu and enable show all selected items at once in configure items.
- Save document settings as default in top menu (document).
